The Albion S.T.A.R. Team welcomes businesses and community volunteers to join us in developing and enjoying a vibrant downtown!

Making a vibrant place for all

The Albion S.T.A.R. Team’s vision is to make the square a community meeting place and a commercial center. We do this by focusing on these primary areas:

  • Historic preservation and enhancement

  • Maintenance of buildings

  • Community heritage

  • Assisting the Courthouse Square Preservation Society

ENGAGING

Volunteers are welcomed from all areas of our local economy including business and property owners, bankers, citizens, public officials, and members of the Albion Chamber of Commerce.

The engagement of the community is essential to see the creation of a vibrant downtown square. We are excited to bring people together to see plans become reality! Everyone’s input and assistance is welcomed. Contact us to get started!

FUNDING

The S.T.A.R. Team will assist local businesses with grants by researching and helping to facilitate the gathering of necessary resources to help fund building enhancement projects including facade improvements.

BEAUTIFYING

The S.T.A.R. Team envisions a clean, attractive, inviting downtown. Our "alley allies" are assembled to help keep not only our streets and sidewalks attractive, but also the often forgotten alleyways and newly activated spaces like the Doc's Fox mural at Doc's Hardware and Celebration Station next to the Pizza Depot.

HOSTING

The S.T.A.R. Team strives to make downtown Albion a community gathering place. We sponsor events like Albionopoly and activities like Kiddie Games during Chain O' Lakes Festival each summer. These events offer an opportunity for the community at large to discover Albion’s downtown retailers and gathering spaces.
