Albion has celebrated the arrival of fall for more than 20 years by coming together for Harvest Fest at the Noble County Saddle Club on the east edge of town. Plans for Harvest Fest were thwarted, however, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Harvest Fest organizers cancelled Harvest Fest in 2020 and 2021.
As a result, the Albion S.T.A.R. Team is pleased to announce a free Fall Celebration on the Square - smaller but no less fun - scheduled to take place in downtown Albion on Saturday, September 18 from 9 AM to 3 PM. Let's come together to support Albion's downtown, historic business district and enjoy some of the original festival favorites, including local food and other vendors, a Scarecrow Workshop, cruise-in, and games on the Courthouse lawn! Public restrooms will be available in the Courthouse, first floor, north side entrance.
Cruise In
Cruise in with your prized, restored classic,
barn-fresh hot rod, muscle car, motorcycle, truck,
rat rod.... we want to see them all! Exhibition parking will be available on West Jefferson Street, with overflow on E. Jefferson Street. Find check-in in front of the Shell station at SR 9 & Jefferson. Open from 9 AM to 3 PM.
Make a Scarecrow
We'll provide the materials; you provide the creativity and elbow grease! Make a scarecrow to take home, or to donate to the Albion S.T.A.R. Team to decorate downtown Albion this fall! Everything you need to make a scarecrow will be furnished!
Find the Scarecrow Workshop in the alley on the north side of the square, off Jefferson Street, between Hidden Ego and Newman & Newman Law office. In the event of rain, the workshop will be moved indoors at Newman & Newman. Allow one hour to complete a scarecrow.
Step 1: Pick out a frame, head, and face (already painted). Frames are sized small, medium, and large. Pick out pants, shirts, hat, hair and embellishments (necklaces, patches, scarves, bandanas, etc.)
Step 2: Go to an assigned table. Someone will be ready to help you stuff your scarecrow with straw.
Step 3: Take your scarecrow and embellishments to the next station, where another helper will finish your scarecrow using a glue gun.
Make and Take scarecrows
$20.00 each - all materials included.
Make and Donate scarecrows While supplies last! Make a scarecrow for just $5.00 and donate it to decorate the town! Donated scarecrows will be auctioned off at the beginning of Scare of the Square on October 29th to benefit the Albion S.T.A.R. Team, the community's local Main Street Affiliate helping downtown Albion thrive!
$5.00 each - all materials included - plus enter the People's Choice contest to win $50!
Games
Free, family-friendly games including a giant Jenga-style game, Connect Four, and more will be available to enjoy on the courthouse lawn.
